Improve Quality of Education in Afemai Land with Donation of White Marker Boards to Schools

In a transformative three-day initiative, the Afemai Union Munich Germany, under the leadership of Sir Romeo Rahim Yakub, distributed over 20 white marker boards and educational supplies to schools across Afemai Land in Edo State. The project, aimed at modernizing learning tools in rural classrooms, brought relief and renewed hope to pupils and teachers in the region.
The exercise, which ran from April 28 to April 30, kicked off in Owan East Local Government Area. At Emokpaire Primary School in Ivbiaro, three whiteboards and markers were delivered, followed by a similar donation at Unuata Secondary School in Ovbiokhuanrin-Ora. The team then moved to Akoko-Edo LGA, where Okhuerhomoh Primary School in Ikpeshi received three boards as well as markers.
Day two saw the delegation visit Odighie-Egho Primary School in Agbede before heading to Etsako Central. There, they presented three boards at the Palace of the Egeagbai of Ekperi Kingdom, where His Royal Highness Alhaji D.Y.E Khanoba, the monarch, commended the Union’s efforts. “We pray for the continued growth of Afemai Union Munich Germany. Their commitment to uplifting education here is a blessing,” he stated, urging them to sustain their humanitarian work.
On the final day, the team toured Auchi Sacred Kingdom’s heritage zones, distributing supplies to Uchi, Utsogun, Akpekpe, Aibotse-Igbei, and Iyekhei Primary Schools. Head teachers at the benefiting schools expressed profound gratitude, with many offering prayers for the donors’ prosperity.
Speaking on behalf of the Union, the facilitator Mr. Abdulrahim Yusuf emphasized the initiative’s goal: “The era of blackboards is over. Whiteboards are cleaner, safer, and easier to maintain. We want our children to learn with modern tools.” He praised Sir Romeo’s leadership and hinted at more community-driven projects in the pipeline, reaffirming the Union’s dedication to Afemai’s development.
The exercise concluded on a joyous note as pupils at Aibotse-Igbei Primary School praised Mr. Yusuf with birthday songs, blending gratitude with celebration. The gesture underscored the deep connection between the diaspora group and their homeland.
With no less than 20 boards distributed and countless smiles ignited, the Afemai Union Munich Germany has set a precedent for grassroots educational support. As the Union pledges further initiatives, communities across Edo State await more collaborations to bridge gaps in learning infrastructure.
